It gives us pleasure to offer these exciting, fun and intensive Professional Development Workshops with a premier teacher trainer of the Suzuki Method for the Guitar. These workshops are especially designed for those with a desire to begin or continue their study with the highest caliber of training possible in the program which sets the world standard in pedagogical excellence.

Every Child Can! is a six–hour introduction to Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy and its application to Suzuki education as created and implemented by the Suzuki Association of the Americas. For parents, teachers, perspective teachers and interested professionals, this new course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning.

This workshop will offer an in–depth study of the Suzuki philosophy, parent education, how to introduce Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to a three year old, educational strategies, keeping motivation alive, conducting private lessons, the importance of tone production, fun ways to insure proper technique, listening skills, songs and other activities for the Pre–Twinkler, the general construction and key points of each piece of Book I of the Suzuki Guitar School&trade, practice skills, the importance of review and group class, a “hands–on” approach for conducting successful group class, making group class fun, etc.

If you have already taken Book 1 and would like a review of the course you can register for the offering at half the fee.
NOTE : You must have completed Every Child Can!™ and submit a photocopy of your SAA registration form in order to participate in Book 1 Review.
The general construction and key points of each piece of Book 2 of the Suzuki Guitar School , practice skills, motivation and working with students at this level, parental support for students and the program, reading and general music skill development, etc.
For these workshops applicants must have thoroughly learned and memorized the Student edition and a thorough grasp of the Accompaniment parts of the Suzuki Guitar School&trade, Book I or Book II by the first day of the workshop.
Applicants should have read Nurtured by Love by Shinichi Suzuki which is available at most music stores.

The registration form and $200 non–refundable deposit due by JUNE 15, 2011, the balance will be due by July 10, 2011.
As a founding member and chairman of both the Guitar Committee of the International Suzuki Association and the Guitar Committee for the Suzuki Association of the Americas Mr. Longay has remained a leader in developing the Suzuki approach to the classical guitar. For over twenty years he has been in demand as a teacher and teacher trainer in South America, Australia as well as all across North America.
Housing and meals will not be provided. Information about local housing and restaurants will be made available. General transportation as well as transportation to and from the airport will not be provided.
Space is limited and participants will be accepted on a first–come–first–serve basis.
Santa Clara, in the San Francisco Bay Area, is not only the heart of Silicon Valley. The beautiful, white sandy beaches of the Pacific ocean are less than 45 minutes away and San Francisico, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, is only an hour North.
Remember, we must receive your form and deposit by JUNE 15, 2011 for Book 1 and Book 2 in order to insure your participation in the workshops. Let us know if you would like to receive information about future training offerings. All information will be kept confidential.
