LONGAY CONSERVATORY OF GUITAR DOCUMENT / UPDATED : SEPTEMBER 27, 2010
Every Child Can! is a six–hour introduction to Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy and its application to Suzuki education as created and implemented by the Suzuki Association of the Americas. For parents, teachers, perspective teachers and others, this new course provides an inspiring, in–depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers ECC! serves as the required first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas’ Teacher Development Program. In addition to exploring the elements of the Suzuki approach and its far–reaching goals, it includes an introduction to learning styles, history of the development of Suzuki education, the role of parents, the importance of Suzuki pedagogical training and an overview of the SAA’s role in supporting teachers and parents.
Parents involved in the Suzuki Approach to music education quickly learn that it is more than a way of introducing music to their children. The sometimes simple and sometimes demanding challenges bring discoveries about raising our children to become happy and responsible individuals. They report that they discover wonderful pathways to understanding their children and have gained insights into the meaning of parenthood.
Many musicians have discovered an effective direction in their teaching as well as discovering a sense of personal fulfillment as a result of embracing the Suzuki approach in bringing music to the lives of families and children. It is a great pleasure to invite you to consider the possibility of making this approach yours.
